New and familiar faces mingle in this Orange Is the New Black trailer

Along with House of Cards, Orange Is the New Black was one of the first original Netflix shows to lend some serious credence to the streaming service, and now season 3 is almost upon us. For those of you who haven't tuned in yet, the show follows Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling), a woman who is sentenced to fifteen months in prison after being convicted of a decade-old crime of transporting money for her drug-dealing girlfriend (Laura Prepon). If you want a taste of what the show's all about and what's to come, check out the latest preview below!

I've watched and enjoyed the first two seasons of Orange Is the New Black, but this trailer feels like they're trying way too hard to convince viewers that they're in for a "good time". The show has done a pretty admirable job at balancing out the seriousness of the situation with the occasional lighter tone and characters. Maybe it's just the marketing here, but everything feels too colorful for my taste. Still, it's lead actress is filled to the brim with charisma, and Netflix has been doing a good job this year with the likes of House of Cards and Daredevil. I'm hoping OITNB will follow suit!

Season 3 of Orange Is the New Black will hit the smaller screens on June 12, 2015.

Of course, Erin Foster . . . I mean Taylor Schilling, is so very easy on the eyes.
