New Blade Runner 2049 poster is bursting with color

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

BLADE RUNNER 2049 will be upon us in a little over a month, and though we’ve gotten several interesting and high-octane trailers the one area of promotion the movie has been lacking in is the poster department. Only some teaser posters have been unveiled thus far, but now a brand-spanking new poster has finally been released, featuring four of the main characters played by Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Jared Leto and Ana de Armas.

The poster was posted by the BLADE RUNNER 2049 Twitter page today, and it features a colorful design that meshes blue, red and a little yellow for an almost kaleidoscopic effect. Should I have just said “trippy”?

This is certainly a step up from the teaser posters that came out some months ago and is a great case study in how a little color can make a poster vastly more unique than just slapping the characters on there. I’m sure there was a standard version of this out there with the characters looking normal until a man in a beret and turtleneck came along and was like, “No, no, no! Add some of this and some of that and some blue and voila!”

BLADE RUNNER 2049 arrives October 6.
