In addition to the TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON TV spot, a new trailer for CARS 2 debuted yesterday during the Daytona 500. Considering when and where it debuted, it shouldn’t surprise you to know that it was filled with a lot of racing and a lot of Larry the Cable Guy.
The movie itself doesn’t look bad, I’m just completely disinterested in a way I don’t think I’ve ever been before at a Pixar movie. I understand that the CARS franchise is a huge, huge cash-cow for Disney but how about just a TV series or something. A sequel to their least regarded film doesn’t feel like the best move to me as a fan but considering their output the last few years, I guess we have to take one on the chin and give Pixar the benefit of the doubt. If Natalie Portman is going to follow-up BLACK SWAN with NO STRINGS ATTACHED, I guess Pixar can follow up TOY STORY 3 with CARS 2.
