Just last week we offered a new look at Micahel Lander’s multiple personality thriller PEACOCK, and judging by the lack of response that bastard culled, it’s safe to say not many AITH readers are looking forward to this flick. It’s somewhat of shame then if you believe, like I do, that any film with Cillian Murphy, Ellen Page, Susan Sarandon, Josh Lucas, Eric Walkus…I mean Bill Pullman and Keith Carradine cannot be all that bad. Well, we’ve got a new clip below to prove or disprove such a belief!
In the new clip, watch Ellen Page’s character come face to face with a hermed out Cillian Murphy (herm = shim = shemale) as she tries to explain why she entered his/her home uninvited. Nothing too graphic or gory here, but seeing Murphy decked in lady’s attire far exceeds the creep factor I was expecting going in. By the way, isn’t this the second drag-role Murphy’s done behind BREAKFAST ON PLUTO? Who does this guy think he is, Lady Gaga?
Co-written with Lander by Ryan O Roy, PEACOCK is a suspense thriller about a man named John (Murphy) who lives a reclusive life that gets broken open when a train caboose destroys his house’s fence, opening his life up to the world. Neighbors learn a lot more about John including his other personality Emma whom they believe to be his wife. This makes him the focus and spotlight of the community, eventually shattering the delicate balance of his sanity.
Yeah, after re-reading that synopsis and considering all the footage I’ve seen from the movie, it’s fair to say this is more of a disturbing psycho-drama than a through-and-through horror joint. But again, with that cast, we might all be remiss if we skip the damn thing.
