Prisoners

A new clip from MTV for PRISONERS has been released, and while it doesn't reveal too much about the plot or characters, it does showcase some awesome cinematography. In the clip, Jake Gyllenhaal confronts his suspect (Paul Dano) and demands to know where Hugh Jackman's missing girls are. It's very dark and rainy in the clip, and I like how the flashlights cut through the darkness. I've seen some people compare it to David Fincher's ZODIAC, and PRISONERS certainly looks like it will visually be similar.

PRISONERS has kind of snuck up on people, but I think the film is going to get a lot of buzz as we get closer to its release date. Jackman going all vigilante, Dano being a creepy suspect and Gyllenhaal as the detective that's stuck in the middle? I'm sold, how about you?

Synopsis:

Keller Dover is facing every parent's worst nightmare. His 6-year-old daughter and her young friend are missing, and as minutes turn to hours, panic sets in. The only lead is a dilapidated RV that had been parked on their street. Heading the investigation, Detective Loki arrests its driver, but a lack of evidence forces the only suspect's release. Knowing his child's life is at stake, the frantic Dover decides he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands. The desperate father will do whatever it takes to find the girls, but in doing so, may lose himself, begging the question: When do you cross the line between seeking justice and becoming a vigilante?

PRISONERS also stars Viola Davis, Maria Bello, Terrence Howard and Melissa Leo, and it will hit theaters on September 20th, 2013.
