New Daredevil series in the works for Disney+

new Daredevil series, Disney+, Charlie Cox

After several years of rumours, it seems that the Man Without Fear will return. According to Variety, a new Daredevil series is moving forward at Disney+. Huzzah!

Matt Corman and Chris Ord are attached to write and executive produce the new Daredevil series, and although there’s no confirmation that Charlie Cox will once again be playing the role, it’s probably a safe bet. Marvel Studios seems keen on keeping Charlie Cox in the family as the actor recently reprised the role of Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Vincent D’Onofrio also returned as Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, in the Hawkeye series. Since the Netflix series was cancelled almost five years ago, fans have been eagerly awaiting the day that Marvel would bring the characters back. Marvel hasn’t officially announced anything about the new Daredevil series yet and representatives for Marvel Studios didn’t comment, but it would seem that day has arrived.

All of Netflix’s Marvel TV shows are now streaming on Disney+. That includes Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, The Punisher, and The Defenders. Charlie Cox has previously expressed his desire to keep playing Daredevil for as long as they’ll let him. “I loved every single minute of making the show,” Cox said. “And so, to be asked to come back [for Spider-Man: No Way Home] and to be involved in any capacity is absolutely thrilling to me. And I hope, I don’t want to sound greedy, but I hope I get to do loads more… The one thing that being in the MCU allows that we couldn’t really do with the Netflix stuff, is that I can now interact with other MCU characters. So, that would be really cool.

Corman and Ord are best known for co-creating Covert Affairs, an action-drama series for the USA Network starring Piper Perabo and Christopher Gorham. The series spanned five seasons from 2010 to 2014 and followed Annie Walker (Perabo), a CIA operative fresh out of the farm and her blind handler, Auggie (Gorham).
