I guess there’s no time like the present to prop some more NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET goodies, seeing how we’re basically devoting this entire month to our favorite Christmas sweatered pedophile, Mr. Fred Krueger. You remember the retrospective documentary called NEVER SLEEP AGAIN: THE ELM STREET LEGACY that was recently picked up by Darknight Pictures? Well, not only is the shite up for release this month, some brand new DVD artwork has just made its way to our door. Cop a look at it underneath!

Directed by Daniel Farrands and Andrew Kasch, NEVER SLEEP AGAIN offers:

Fans a chance to enter the world of Freddy Krueger and A Nightmare On Elm Street like never before: exploring what spurred mastermind Wes Craven to craft the first groundbreaking film; delving deep behind the scenes of the original and all of its sequels; learning how the cast and crew brought their worst nightmares to life; and finally, understanding the impact the series and its mythos have had on modern pop culture and the horror genre.

Narrated by and starring Heather Langenkamp, featuring interviews with the cast and crew spanning every film, and loaded with clips, photographs, storyboards, conceptual art, publicity materials, archival documents and behind-the-scenes footage, Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy is the most exhaustive account of what many have called the best, most frightening and imaginative horror franchise in motion picture history. There are over 100 interviews from cast and crew, including directors Wes Craven, Renny Harlin, and Ronny Yu, as well as talent John Saxon, rockstar Alice Cooper, Monica Keena (Freddy vs Jason), and Freddy Krueger himself, Robert Englund.

As far as horror docs go, this one is definitely worth the wait. I’d personally delight at the chance to hear Big John Depp talk about what an honor it was to get unceremoniously sucked into a bed. Or what drove him to rock that awful cutoff t-shirt!

NEVER SLEEP AGAIN will be released sometime later this month. You can also find it included in the newly released Blu-ray box-set of the entire NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET franchise (pre-order that shite HERE).

Monica Keena’s yardwork!
