You know, it's easy to shit (emoji) on something like this. While obviously a preposterously naked cash grab at any sort of recognizable IP, it doesn't necessarily mean THE EMOJI MOVIE will be terrible. I mean, I don't know about you, but I was pretty skeptical of THE LEGO MOVIE when it was first announced, and look how that turned out? Hell, what is ROGUE ONE, if not a naked cash grab at recognizable IP?

Anyway, THE EMOJI MOVIE, starring T.J. Miller, Steven Wright, James Corden, and Ilana Glazer will be released in theaters August 4th, 2017 :/
