The epic THE DARK CRYSTAL prequel series THE DARK CRYSTAL: AGE OF RESISTANCE will begin streaming exclusively on Netflix on Friday, August 30th. And today Netflix has unleashed the FINAL trailer for the 10-episode series and it will surely blow your mind. Check it out above!
Personally and in all honesty, I was never much of a fan of the original flick. But that said, these trailers for THE DARK CRYSTAL 2 have won even ME over. And that's saying a lot. Bring it on! Based on Jim Henson’s groundbreaking 1982 feature film, THE DARK CRYSTAL: AGE OF RESISTANCE tells
a new story set many years before the events of the movie and realized using classic puppetry with cutting edge visual effects. The world of Thra is dying. The Crystal of Truth is at the heart of Thra, a source of untold power. But it is damaged, corrupted by the evil Skeksis, and a sickness spreads across the land. When three Gelfling uncover the horrific truth behind the power of the Skeksis, an adventure unfolds as the fires of rebellion are lit and an epic battle for the planet begins.
The killer cast includes Taron Egerton, Anya Taylor-Joy, Helena Bonham Carter, Natalie Dormer, Eddie Izzard, Toby Jones, Mark Strong, Alicia Vikander, Mark Hamill, Keegan-Michael Key, Simon Pegg, Andy Samberg, and Awkwafina. And let's not forget Lena Headey and Sigourney Weaver!
Louis Leterrier (THE INCREDIBLE HULK, CLASH OF THE TITANS) directs the series which is produced by Ritamarie Peruggi. Leterrier also executive produces along with Lisa Henson, and Halle Stanford. Jeffrey Addiss, Will Matthews, Javier Grillo-Marxuach, and Blanca Lista are co-executive producers. The 10 hour-long episodes from The Jim Henson Company will begin streaming exclusively on Netflix on Friday, August 30, 2019.
