For those watching Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. last night, the first commercial break yielded yet another THOR: THE DARK WORLD extended TV spot, this time featuring a nice amount of new dialogue and footage. The next entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase Two is shaping up to be a strong entry in the series, due largely to director Alan Taylor‘s more “gritty” take on the material and hopefully a lot less time spent on boring ol’ Earth.

Look at you, still all muscle-y and everything:

After the massive success of IRON MAN 3 this past summer (although it clearly divided many fans), I expect THOR: THE DARK WORLD will do pretty well, even though it’s unlikely to make the same numbers. Personally, I’m more excited for this than I was for IRON MAN 3, simply because we’d already seen enough of the character, great as he may be. Hemsworth has owned the role perfectly and I’m looking forward to seeing how far they go in what they’re calling the “Empire Strikes Back” of the series. Dark indeed.

THOR: THE DARK WORLD drops the hammer on November 8, 2013.
