J.J. Abrams’ Amblin-inspired genre mash-up SUPER 8 is less than a month from exploding into theaters, and we’ve got a quick mini-clip to keep y’all in the mood. It features previously unseen footage, mainly focusing on those lovable band of kiddies who inadvertently film something otherworldly. Peep that shite below!

What I dig most about the new clip, aside from the rippin’ pre-80s song, is the different angle of the train-wreck that springboards the story. Not sure about you, but I’m hit with shades of the train scene in THE FUGITIVE, a summer film I saw back when was ten years old. Much like the entirety of SUPER 8 is to J.J. Abrams, I feel a sense of childlike nostalgia watching the clip. Do you?

In the summer of 1979, where a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth – something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined.

Elle Fanning, Amanda Michalka, Kyle Chandler, Ron Eldard, Noah Emmerich and Gabriel Basso are a few of the key players in the film.

SUPER 8 blows up June 10th.
