It seems like ages ago that the rumor of Nathan Fillion playing the part of Nova Prime in James Gunn's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY was circulating. We know now that the character didn’t end up in the movie, but what would Nova (Richard Rider) have looked like? Wonder no more! Available in stores August 12th is “Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Art of the Movie”, which offers a look at all the concept art, character, vehicle and weapon designs that went into making the movie including Nova.

Here is what Nova might have looked like on the big screen:

It’s possible that he will show up in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2; cutting him from the first movie makes a lot of sense considering the amount of superhuman abilities already on show. For now we wait and ogle at the concept art.

Here are other pieces of art that will be featured the art book including concept art of the Badoon, who were changed into Sakaarans for the film, as Fox owns screen rights to the Badoon.
