Since the trailer debut, new images have been steadily revealed for Josh Trank‘s FANTASTIC FOUR. More than any other comic book film, FANTASTIC FOUR seems to be dividing audiences even after the trailer alleviated the fears of many. Still, the lack of production leaks while filming seemed to hint to everyone that something was wrong with the project.
These new photos are deliberately vague and only give us looks at Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, and Kate Mara in their containment suits. It is tough to tell if these are before or after the accident that turns them into superhumans, but the more detail we see, the more intrigued I get. The costumes look unlike anything we have seen in a superhero movie to date but not in a bad way. I still cannot say for certain what their purpose is, only that they are unique.
We have yet to get a clear look at Toby Kebbell or Jamie Bell, post-transformation, which is a good thing. The more mystery that can be built surrounding the reveal of their final forms will increase expectation for the movie once it is released. I have been pleasantly surprised by what we have been shown so far and I hope to stay that way.
FANTASTIC FOUR opens on August 7th and the sequel is already set for June 2, 2017.
