New images from Kevin Smith’s Tusk; Haley Joel Osment is gun toting

TUSK will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival this weekend and like many of you, I’m eagerly anticipating Kevin Smith’s latest horror movie. Now I’m not his biggest fan, but I’ve come to appreciate his grown-up filmography more so than a lot of his comedies. RED STATE was a turning point for me as a fan, and now I’m looking to TUSK to show off that mature side of Smith once more. Also, we will inevitably see another masterful Michael Parks performance.

The disturbing trailer definitely got a lot of people talking and I’ve included it below along with new images that have been released. They’re disturbing and dark; I expect nothing less from a movie telling a story like this.

Here’s the official synopsis:

When podcaster Wallace Bryton goes missing in the backwoods of Manitoba while interviewing a mysterious seafarer named Howard Howe, his best friend Teddy Craft and girlfriend Allison team with an ex-cop named Guy LaPointe to look for him.

Are you looking forward to TUSK?

TUSK opens September 19, 2014 and also stars Justin Long, Haley Joel Osment, Ralph Garman, Harley Morenstein, Harley Quinn Smith, Lily-Rose Depp, and Johnny Depp as Guy LaPointe.
