New international trailer for The Wolverine starring Hugh Jackman may be the best one yet!

While men in robotic iron suits and ultra powerful aliens duke it out over the summer box office, there’s one more card in the deck waiting to be played and that’s our favorite Marvel mutant, Logan, better known as THE WOLVERINE. James Mangold‘s sorta sequel to X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE takes its story from the Chris Claremont/Frank Miller limited series, which pits Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) against the Yashida clan, a powerful Japanese “mob,” forcing him to face the perils of love, honor, and immortality. It’s a solid tale in the comics and it looks like Mangold and co. have adapted it with an updated vision in mind, but still with some integrity.

This new international trailer highlights a lot of that, giving way more backstory and insight into just what’s going down. In fact, it paints a much more positive light to the film, which thus far has seemed to underwhelm a bit in the marketing department. It certainly doesn’t give it all away, but teases more about Yashida’s intentions, as well as the villainous Viper (Svetlana Khodchenkova). Overall, this definitely leaves a stronger sense of the film and potentially more incentive for those on the fence.

Check it out, bub:

Here’s the synopsis:

THE WOLVERINE slashes into theaters on July 26, 2013.
