
Fresh off of a successful run with PANS LABYRNTH, Guillermo Del Toro is not letting up, as he is pulling money from his now loaded wallet to produce THE ORPHANAGE. The film, which is directed by Juan Antonio Bayona, is focused on the character of Laura, who purchases her childhood orphanage with the hopes of rebuilding it into a facility for disabled children. Unfortunately for Laura, the orphanage does weird things to her son involving his imagination, and when the fantasy games that he is playing with an imaginary friend start turning disturbing, the story starts turning scary.
Oh those pesky children’s imaginations are always getting in the way of disabled children’s hopes for a nicer place to chill out; thanks a lot Laura’s son!
