Back in December we showed you what we thought was the official poster for Rodrigo Cortes’ claustrophobic horror flick BURIED, starring Ryan Reynolds (jump in the past HERE). But after more than a month’s gone by, what do we have? A revised official poster for the flick, and I must say… the revised version is an improvement!
While the basic image is essentially the same (Reynolds in a wooden casket, buried under the ground with a lighter in hand), the tagline and layout of the tagline is the real difference. 170,00 sq miles of desert. 90 minutes of oxygen. No way out. I like that. 170,00 sq miles of desert. 90 minutes of oxygen. A cell phone. Meh… not so much. Good thing they changed that last part!
As a refresher, BURIED tells the story of Paul, a U.S. contractor working in Iraq. After an attack by a group of Iraqis he wakes to find he is buried alive inside a coffin. With only a lighter and a cell phone it’s a race against time to escape this claustrophobic death trap.
If Reynolds was The Bride, I might say he had a chance, but just a regular dude? How the hell is a cell phone and a lighter gonna help him? Sounds pretty f*cked up, and sounds like a helluva way to spend a movie. I’m not sure how interesting it’s going to be watching a dude in a box for 90 minutes, but I’m down to give it a chance!
Enjoy the new poster above, and get ready for BURIED at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.

Reynolds’ wife Sarlett Johansson!
