New [Rec] 2 tease

UPDATE: The trailer is now in our Video Section.

One of my favorite films of last year – horror or otherwise – was the startling and genuinely creepy [REC], which has still not officially made its way to the States on DVD. (Well, not including its remake – QUARANTINE – which I have yet to see.) It’s a really gripping experience, and proves that the P.O.V. horror gimmick still has life in it.

Therefor I am very psyched that there is a [REC] 2 coming out, so eager am I to see some expansion on the mysterious themes the first one deals with in its final moments. (An “explanation”, if you will, that the remake apparently ignores.) Most of all, I just want to be scared again, something very few movies are able to accomplish nowadays.

We have a new teaser for the film, which I’ve embedded below. Not much, but still compelling. The only downside is it will probably take about 5 years for the damn thing to come out in the U.S…

Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza return to the director’s chair(s), which is also good news. Are you folks ready for another go-round? (Or are you saying “Let me see the first one before I decide that, you prick!”)
