Moviegoers are always in need of great, cinematic super spies and assassins, like Jack Reacher and Jason Bourne. AMERICAN ASSASSIN with Dylan O'Brien and Michael Keaton will bring the newest character (Mitch Rapp, played by O’Brien) to the line-up of slick, fast-punching killers in exhilarating, R-rated fashion. To give you a better sense of how many asses will be getting kicked at the hands of O’Brien and Keaton I shall direct you to the below Red Band trailer for the film, which even includes some destructive ship action.
Like many I was expecting a bit more blood and maybe an f-bomb from the preview, but it’s still cooler than the first trailer. Here the production values are kicked up a notch, and the ferocity of the fight scenes is much more palpable this time around. This movie continues to be a tough sell for me, and only time will tell if this is the next big action series or just another bargain bin action flick.
