The new red-band trailer for George Romero’s SURVIVAL OF THE DEAD is now online. Take a hardened look at Romero’s latest foray into the world of zombie incursion below!

Hitting DVD on April 30th, limited theaters on May 28th – SURVIVAL OF THE DEAD sets up on an island off the coast of North America, where local residents simultaneously fight a zombie epidemic while hoping for a cure to return their un-dead relatives back to their human state.

Despite being rather tame for a red-band trailer, the new look definitely offers a few money shots we’ve all come to expect from a gore-drenched Romero movie. What struck me while watching, and I may be stretching it here, was all the wide shots of the island itself. Could Magnet Releasing be taking a page out of the marketing push for SHUTTER ISLAND? Either way, seeing Romero accosted by his brand of zombies in the intro is kinda fun to witness.

Romero wrote the script for SURVIVAL OF THE DEAD, choosing to let the following breath life (or death, as it may be) into his words: Devon Bostick, Athena Karkanis, Julian Richings, Kathleen Munroe, Alan Van Sprang, Kenneth Welsh, Richard Fitzpatrick, Stefano DiMatteo, Joris Jarsky, Wayne Robson, Heather Allin, Matt Birman and George Stroumboulopoulos.
