A few impressions that the new trailer for Ridley Scott’s ROBIN HOOD left on me: Maid Marian is a bit of a badass, Max Von Sydow should be in every movie, Mark Strong is swiftly becoming this generation’s best villain actor, and the Merry Men apparently don’t have much to do.
It also looks rather epic, like a cross between Scott’s own GLADIATOR and KINGDOM OF HEAVEN (the Director’s Cut, please). This is clearly not a playful take on the folklore outlaw — Russell Crowe is pretty goddamn serious about robbing the rich and giving it to the poor.
