New trailer released for Netflix series Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

GILMORE GIRLS is yet another cancelled show – like FULL HOUSE and ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT – that's getting a second chance at glory by streaming on Netflix. Which, honestly, can go either way. Some shows have amazing, funny characters that we love to come back to (ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT), while others have no business still existing and should go in the ether where other '90s time capsules like Chumbawumba and Hypercolor t-shirts reside (FULL HOUSE). So which one is GILMORE GIRLS?

Well, you can decide for yourself! Here's the trailer below:

So, I'm not going to pretend I've seen a single GILMORE GIRLS episode or know what's going on in this trailer. That's not some weird kind of brag, it's just the truth. And, honestly, if the trailer is anything to go by, it looks like maybe I was missing out. I happen to like quippy, pop-culture-laden dialogue (as a fan of Kevin Smith, Joss Whedon, and Quentin Tarantino, et al), as well as comedic coming-of-age stories, so this seems right up my alley. And the dynamic between the two leads, Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel, seems both charming and sweet. Hell, I might actually even give it a shot sometime, once I'm done binging every episode of FULLER HOUSE (because I hate myself).

Anyway, GILMORE GIRLS will stream on Netflix beginning November 25th, 2016.

So what do you guys think? Any fans of the show? And if so, what do you think of the new series?
