New trailer released for Train to Busan sequel Peninsula

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Well Go USA Entertainment still hasn't announced when they plan to release director Yeon Sang-ho's TRAIN TO BUSAN follow-up PENINSULA in North America, it's not even clear if the South Korean production will be able to keep the international dates that have been announced, but the marketing machine has kept chugging along. A couple months ago we saw a teaser trailer for the film, then a batch of posters showed up online, and now a full trailer has been released and is embedded above.

TRAIN TO BUSAN PRESENTS: PENINSULA has the following synopsis:

Four years after South Korea’s total decimation in Train to Busan, Jung-seok (Gang Dong-won), a soldier who previously escaped the diseased wasteland, relives the horror when assigned to a covert operation with two simple objectives: retrieve and survive. When his team unexpectedly stumbles upon survivors, their lives will depend on whether the best — or worst — of human nature prevails in the direst of circumstances.

TRAIN TO BUSAN was an action-packed thrill ride that I thought was one of the best horror films of 2016, so I'm looking forward to checking out PENINSULA whenever it's released. This one obviously has a much wider scope and even bigger action than its predecessor had, so it looks like it's going to be a lot of fun.
