A new TV spot for the remake of TOTAL RECALL has arrived and features a few bits of new footage, highlighting director Len Wiseman’s (UNDERWORLD) hyperactive action style.  Starring Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, Bryan Cranston, Bill Nighy, Bokeem Woodbine, and John Cho, the film is both a remake of the 1990 Paul Verhoeven film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and a new adaptation of the Philip K. Dick short story “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale.”

And, as a bonus, our own JoBlo.com staffer Nick Bosworth created this mash-up video that blends the new trailer audio with video from the 1990 film.  It’s a fun concept and gives you an idea of how Verhoeven’s film could be marketed today.

And here’s the original “new” trailer:

Cool shit.  I’m still baffled that I’m looking forward to seeing this new version as I’m pretty sure I made raspberries with my mouth and rolled my eyes when I heard about the remake.  However, Len Wiseman has assesmbled a kick ass cast and the action looks great, so what can I say?

TOTAL RECALL starts messing with your head on August 3, 2012.
