New War for the Planet of the Apes TV spot shows off some new footage

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

I remember when RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES was first coming out, and people (me included) were particularly dismissive of it. There was barely any promotion leading up to the release, and the only stars were James Franco and the guy who played Draco Malfoy. We’d also just gotten burned by that terrible Tim Burton/Marky Mark remake less than ten years prior, so I think it was fair to be skeptical. However, that film turned out to be surprisingly awesome, and its sequel DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES (which featured an ape riding horseback while shooting two machine-guns at the same time) was even more awesome.

Now the third film in the rebooted (prequel?) trilogy WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES looks like it could be the most awesome. Here’s a new TV spot showing some new footage.

Badass. Can’t wait.

Meanwhile WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES will fight in theaters July 14th, 2017.
