New X-Men: DOFP viral video teases the threat of mutants among us

JoBloJoBlo

With official confirmation that X-MEN: APOCALYPSE will be directed by Bryan Singer, 20th Century Fox is wasting no time in continuing the viral marketing campaign begun with this summer’s X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. As with all of the X-MEN films, the theme of persecution and racism was a primary plot point in the recent blockbuster which will debut on Blu-ray next month. But, this new viral video shares less in common with that film which leads us to believe it may be part of the next one.

Using the recent massive sinkholes found in Russia as a jumping off point, the video claims to be from The Tandem Initiative and was discovered by M-Underground to dispel myths and rumors about Homo Sapien Superior, the name given to Mutant kind in the X-Men Cinematic Universe.

A little bland and overlong, the video is still an intriguing descent into the crazy world of good and evil mutants. There is a lot to explore on the sites and one can only imagine they will continue to be updated as X-MEN: APOCALYPSE enters production in the coming year. For now, stay tuned for details as X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST arrives on Blu-ray on October 14th.

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE hits theaters on May 27, 2016.
