The other day I saw the trailer for the Oren Peli produced CHERNOBYL DIARIES for the first time and I’ve got to say I was pretty impressed. Let’s just say it was a lot more than I was expecting. Will the same be said about the film itself? Probably not. But that’s still a ways away.

The film follows a group of six young tourists who, looking to go off the beaten path, hire an “extreme tour” guide. Ignoring warnings, he takes them into the city of Pripyat, the former home to the workers of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor, but a deserted town since the disaster more than 25 years ago. After a brief exploration of the abandoned city, however, the group soon finds themselves stranded, only to discover that they are not alone…
CHERNOBYL DIARIES, which comes from director Brad Parker and stars Jesse McCartney, Jonathan Sadowski, Olivia Dudley, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Nathan Phillips, Pasha D. Lychnikoff and Devin Kelley (below), is slated to hit theaters everywhere on May 25th.
