If you’re like me, you pretty much completely missed the entire short-lived half season of ABC’s NIGHT STALKER- not because it was a bad show, but because it was poorly advertised- who knew when this puppy was on? I for one didn’t!
The new show was a remake of sorts of the 1970s NIGHT STALKER, about a reporter named Carl Kolchak, who investigated the strange, weird and unknown. Like monsters and shit. As I scored a new iPod last month (yeah, Happy Birthday to me bitches!), and had a lack of shows to download from iTunes, I downloaded NIGHT STALKER, and started watching that shit on my bus ride to work… and you know what? It wasn’t half bad!
Not the best show ever made, but there’s plenty of crappier ways to spend an hour, that’s for sure! Recently The Sci Fi Channel picked up the rights to rerun the entire series starting next summer- all 10 episodes (including 3 ABC didn’t have time to air before it ripped the show from it’s time slot).
So don’t worry! If you don’t wanna pay 2 bucks a pop to watch them off iTunes, be sure to tune into The Sci Fi Channel this coming summer to catch this seriously underated show- one that will most likely become a cult classic once it hits DVD.
