No One Will Save You: Kaitlyn Dever to star in Brian Duffield film

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

While Booksmart (watch it HERE) star Kaitlyn Dever's hopes of playing the character Ellie in the television series based on the video game The Last of Us didn't pan out (Bella Ramsey ended up being cast as Ellie), it sounds like she's going to be starring in a different genre project. 20th Century Studios has acquired the rights to No One Will Save You, a project that will be written and directed by Brian Duffield and has Dever attached to star.

Plot details are being kept secret, the acquisition announcement didn't even contain confirmation on the project's genre. But Duffield has previously written The Babysitter, Underwater, and Love and Monsters, and made his directorial debut with last year's Spontaneous, so taking that into account and considering how sinister the title No One Will Save You sounds, it seems safe to assume that this is in the horror or thriller range.

Whatever it is, the involvement of Dever and Duffield stirred up a "competitive auction" over the rights, with 20th Century Studios coming out the winner.

The film is being produced by Star Thrower Entertainment's Tim White, Trevor White, and Allan Mandelbaum.

We'll keep you updated on No One Will Save You as it continues to move forward. Hopefully we'll know what it's about soon.
