With Jimmy Cameron looking smarter by the minute, quickly moving closer to authoring the two highest grossing motion pictures of all time (AVATAR has eclipsed the $230 million mark in 11 days), the man has divulged an interesting notion regarding a sequel to his larger than life cinematic experience.
According to the L.A. Times, the second in a purported trilogy of AVATAR films won’t necessarily take place on Pandora. Frankly, as self proclaimed King of the World, the dude has far more territory to conquer.
From Cameron’s own lips, “we have some story ideas about how o branch out into to other moons of Polyphemus and the Alpha Centauri A (ACA) Solar System.”
James also adds that, since all of the sets are already erected, creatures designed, cast members locked, treatments in place – AVATAR 2 should get done a lot quicker than the first installment. Of course, AVATAR was conceived back in 1994, so that’s hardly a stretch.
So what says you? First off, did you see AVATAR yet? Like it or not? Do you think the follow up should be set on Pandora or branch out like Cameron suggests?
AVATAR’s Zoe Saldana!
