No Rest Stop 2 for Alexander

I have not yet laid my eyeballs upon the Warner Bros. direct-to-DVD hit – probably because I’ve heard and read mostly negative things about it. That said, it was a success for the WB’s “Raw Feed” shingle, and earned itself a sequel -although it would appear it’s going to have to do without its leading lady, as Bloody Disgusting reports actress Jamie Alexander (“Nicole”) won’t be coming back.

No reason is given, but they do state that the character returns, and will be recast. The flick begins shooting in L.A. later this month with Shaun Papazian at the helm. Here’s the synopsis:

Returning Iraqi War veteran TOM HILTS heads off with his girlfriend, MARILYN CULVER, and his best friend, JARED SCHNAUZ, to discover what happened to his brother JESSE and his girlfriend NICOLE, who disappeared a year ago. The terrible truth of what happened to Jesse and Nicole is about to repeat itself, as Tom, Marilyn and Jared run into the same bloodthirsty ghostly creatures–the DRIVER, FATHER and MOTHER–who have been plaguing luckless “sinners” on the Old Highway for decades…

We’ll hit you up with more REST STOP 2: STOP HARDER info as it comes in.
