NOES high school set

Ah, the return of Springwood High, Freddy Kruger’s old stomping/killing grounds. If you’ll cast your eyes above and below, you’ll discover some new set pics from the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET remake. The focus, of course, is on the happenings around Springwood High School (just in case you were unable to read the varsity jacket clearly). So what position do you think the bubba up top plays on the football team? Center? Linebacker? Regardless, I’m certain he’d have a pretty tough time laying a solid block on Mr. Kruger, especially now with genius character actor, Jackie Earl Haley, underneath the striped sweater. For a few more less-than-stellar pics, you can click here.

Normally, this is the part in most articles where I usually post the film’s plot, but shit, is that really necessary here? How about I say this: We won’t be treated to a 40-minute back story of Freddy as a little boy or, most likely, a rookie janitor. And for a remake such as this, I feel that’s a good thing.

I will, however, fill you in on the rest of the cast for Mr. Haley to slice through: Connie Britton, Thomas Dekker, Clancy Brown, Katie Cassidy, Kellen Lutz, and Rooney Mara. Our director for this one is Samuel Bayer, working from a script by Wesley Strick and Eric Heisserer. I’d say mark your calendars for April 16, 2010, but I’m not sure how many 2010 calendars are out there yet, so just keep it in mind.
