Get Out and Us writer/director Jordan Peele‘s mysterious third film – which is titled Nope – has wrapped production, and now that cameras are no longer rolling on the project Variety has been able to confirm that the film’s cinematographer was Hoyte van Hoytema, whose previous credits include Let the Right One In, The Fighter, Her, Interstellar, Spectre, Dunkirk, Ad Astra, and Tenet. Variety notes that Nope was “shot on KODAK film, including 65mm film in IMAX format.”

Nope is scheduled to reach theatres on July 22, 2022.

Details on the story Peele is telling this time are being kept under wraps, but it has been said that the film will

follow in the same vein as his past two directorial efforts, terrifying and subversive tales full of socially-conscious thematics in regards to race and society.

The cast includes Get Out star Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer (Scream Queens), Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead), Barbie Ferreira (Euphoria), Brandon Perea (The OA), and Michael Wincott (The Crow).

Peele produced Nope through his company Monkeypaw Productions, alongside Ian Cooper.

In addition to Get Out, Us, and Nope, Peele contributed to the horror genre by executive producing Lovecraft Country and the recent revival of The Twilight Zone. Both of those shows have reached the end of their runs. He also produced and co-wrote the Candyman reboot, which was directed by Nia DaCosta, and is set to produce a remake of Wes Craven’s The People Under the Stairs.

We’ll keep you updated on Nope as the film’s release date gets closer. I am very curious to find out what exactly this movie is going to be about.
