Which do you like more: remakes, vampires, or fairy tale movies?

Someone out there sure likes ’em, because it seems like a good chunk of what’s in the works for the next couple of years falls into one (or more) of those categories. Right now, vampires!

The latest is HARKER, described as a “re-imagining” of Bram Stoker’s classic novel DRACULA. This new take, a spec script by Lee Shipman & Brian McGreevy, “focuses on Jonathan Harker as the Scotland Yard detective who is tracking Dracula, and the script sets up the sleuth as a potential new franchise character,” per Deadline.

Director Jaume Collet-Serra (HOUSE OF WAX, ORPHAN, Liam Neeson’s upcoming UNKNOWN) is attached to the (likely) Warner Bros. project, and Leonardo DiCaprio’s company Appian Way is producing, although Leo isn’t expected to get in front of the camera for the production.

The project is unrelated to the Stoker-spinoff graphic novel of the same name, the film rights of which were also optioned last year.

Betcha ol’ Bram never imagined what a gold mine he was creating…
