Official Buried poster

With more than 3 months since our last update on Rodrigo Cortes’ chilling claustrophobic mystery BURIED, it’s about damn time we landed an official poster for the flick. And that my dear friends, is exactly what you’re peering at above (courtesy of a Quiet Earth exclusive)!

With a sparse cast of merely Ryan Reynolds, Ivana Mino and Anne Lockhart – BURIED tells the story of Paul, a U.S. contractor working in Iraq. After an attack by a group of Iraqis he wakes to find he is buried alive inside a coffin. With only a lighter and a cell phone it’s a race against time to escape this claustrophobic death trap.

Good grief! It’s as if an entire picture we’re comprised of those scenes form THE VANISHING and the underground coffin segment of KILL BILL. Pretty grueling shite!

BURIED marks sophomore feature efforts from both writer Chris Sparling (behind UZI AT THE ALAMO), and director Rodrigo Cortes (THE CONTESTANT).

No telling when the flick will hit in 2010, but as mentioned earlier today, it will be part of this year’s Sundance Film Festival.

Below are a couple of concept pieces for the flick that didn’t make the grade.
