So, who’s your choice for Eddie Munster?

Because it’s official folks…as Jared alluded to last week, NBC has gone ahead and ordered Bryan Fuller’s rehash of the popular 60s TV series “The Munsters” for a pilot episode. The decision comes only two weeks after Fuller delivered his script. Universal Television will produce, overseeing what’s being dubbed an “imaginative reinvention” of the popular horror-comedy show.

As for the logistics, it seems “The Munsters” will be a possible summer or event series, much like Fuller’s “Pushing Daisies” was. The plan this time is to also wildly ramp up the visual aspect of the show, at the same time keeping the character back-stories more or less intact:

Grandpa Sam Dracula is essentially Dracula who assembled Herman because no man was good enough for his daughter Lily, a sexy vamp. Lily’s niece Marilyn the freak is actually normal and Lily and Herman’s only child, Eddie, has his werewolf tendencies surface in puberty, forcing the family to relocate to their famous 1313 Mockingbird Lane address.

Alright, there you have it…time to start playing “cast this.” Who would you like to see in the roles mentioned above? Who should play the characters from the original not mentioned?

Yvonne De Carlo, aka Lily Munster in the original
