Bart Layton’s documentary/reenactment flick THE IMPOSTER has been described as ‘creepy’, ‘daring’ and ‘disquieting’ and the official trailer certainly delivers in terms of sheer tension and eerie atmosphere. You can check it out below and see for yourself.

In 1994 a 13-year-old boy disappears without a trace from his home in San Antonio, Texas. Three and a half years later he is found alive thousands of miles away in Spain with a shocking story of kidnap and torture. His family is overjoyed to bring him home, but all is not quite what it seems. He bears many of the same marks but why does he have a strange accent? Why does he look so different? And why doesn’t the family seem to notice these glaring inconsistencies? It’s only when an investigator starts asking questionsthat this astonishing true story takes an even stranger turn…

THE IMPOSTER premiered in NY on July 13th. It’ll be released in the rest of the US in August. You can check out our review right HERE.
