There has been a lot of cool artwork created for DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK, and the official UK one-sheet is no exception. Check it out below. The film opens across the pond on August 12. We have to wait a couple of weeks until August 26 to catch it here in the States.
The film is a remake of the 1973 British TV movie of the same name. Troy Nixey directs from a script by Guillermo del Toro (who also serves as producer) and his MIMIC co-writer Matthew Robbins. Bailee Madison, Guy Pearce and Katie Holmes (below) star.
DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK follows Sally, a young girl who moves to Rhode Island to live with her father and his new girlfriend in the 19th-century mansion they are restoring. Having stumbled upon the mansion’s hidden basement, Sally starts hearing voices calling out from the bolted ash pit, imploring her to open it. Sally obliges and unwittingly unleashes something so terrible, so unthinkable, that everyone’s life – hers most of all – is placed in immediate and grave danger.
