Olivia Thirlby is probably best known for appearances in more intimate character films like JUNO and THE WACKNESS, but she’s about to get her hands dirty while dealing with extraterrestrial intruders in a sci-fi/action movie called THE DARKEST HOUR.
The flick is set in Moscow and follows a group of American tourists visiting the city when an alien invasion occurs. Why Moscow? Because native Russian and WANTED director Timur Bekmambetov is producing and using his own Moscow facilities for the production.
The pillow-lipped young actress will play “a trust fund girl trying to survive the attack who teams up with others to try to defeat the invaders.” Obviously it will come down to American heroics and ingenuity to save the world because USA! USA! USA!
The movie comes from Summit (home of the TWILIGHT movie franchise) and will be directed by Chris Gorak, who last made the grim terrorism thriller RIGHT AT YOUR DOOR.
