MKW as Omar from The Wire

Yes, the casting for this film just keeps getting better. And no, I’m not surprised. If someone as talented as Steve McQueen asked me to be in one of his projects, I’d drop just about everything to do it.

This particular case of casting brings us Michael Kenneth Williams (THE ROAD), of both “Boardwalk Empire” and “The Wire” fame, and I’m sure he’ll do an absolutely bang-up job as a mutinous slave named Robert.  Williams joins a cast that includes *deep breath* Chiwetal Ejiofor, Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Dano, Garret Dillahunt, Sarah Paulson, Paul Giamatti, Taran Killam, Ruth Negga, Adepero Oduy, and Scoot McNairy.

12 YEARS A SLAVE is currently filming in New Orleans.
