Damn, it’s been quite some time since we heard anything on the revenge-from-beyond-the-grave screamer TORMENTED. Today, we finally have something new to sink into our sockets—a teaser one-sheet (above) that just popped up online. I’m kinda digging it, though the image immediately made me think of Vinnie Jones’ character in MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN (but that’s probably because I just watched it last night). Regardless, I still really like the concept as well as the tagline.
The simplistic, fun-sounding plot goes a little something like this: Darren Mullet was a bullied asthmatic, driven to suicide by his tormented life – ignored by his parents, ridiculed by his teachers and bullied at school. However, he returns from the dead to pay his teenage tormentors a final visit.
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, I love seeing bullies get their just desserts in horror flicks, especially in extra bloody amounts! I do hope that TORMENTED has the guts to deliver… the guts! Directing duties are being handled by Jon Wright from a script by Stephen Prentice. It stars Alex Pettyfer, April Pearson, Larissa Wilson, Mary Nighy, and Dimitri Loenidas. Screens are set to be TORMENTED on May 22nd in the U.K. and on July 10th in the U.S.
