So THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE BEGINNING did right by its makers this weekend by pulling down the 2nd spot at the box office with a healthy $19.15 million. In an odd move the studio is still providing us with clips from the flick, no doubt to help counter the typical steep second week drop off that genre pics often suffer.
This time around it’s the opening of the film, showing a young Leatherface being pretty much his normal gruesome self…just younger. Really there’s no sympathy to be had for the ugly, crazy tyke other than the fact that he’s an ugly crazy tyke.
You’ve got your pick of watching the clip in crystal clear Quicktime or quicker than a virgin poppin’ his cherry Windows Media. In other words, quality vs. speed. Pick your poison friends.
