Orion Classics has acquired the worldwide distribution rights to writer/director Jim Cummings' werewolf thriller THE WOLF OF SNOW HOLLOW, and Deadline reports that the company is already planning to give the film a theatrical and On Demand release on October 9th.

Cummings also stars in THE WOLF OF SNOW HOLLOW as

a small-town sheriff who is struggling with a failed marriage, a rebellious daughter and a lackluster department. He is tasked with solving a series of brutal murders that are occurring on the full moon. As he’s consumed by the hunt for the killer, he struggles to remind himself that there’s no such thing as werewolves.

The writer/director/star is joined in the cast by Riki Lindhome (who is best known for being one half of the comedy duo Garfunkel and Oates, but genre fans may recognize her from the remake of THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT), Jimmy Tatro, Chloe East, and the late Robert Forster in his final film.

THE WOLF OF SNOW HOLLOW was produced by Vanishing Angle's Matt Miller, Natalie Metzger, and Benjamin Wiessner, and New Form's Kathleen Grace, Matt Hoklotubbe, and Michael McGarry. Nick Spicer and Pip Ngo of XYZ Films executive produced.

Cummings had this to say about his film:

It is an honor and a long-time dream to work with Orion Classics and MGM. I wanted to explore elements of horror and comedy through the idea of a monster infiltrating everyday life and how that teaches us who we are and how to not become one ourselves."

I'm always on the lookout for a good, new werewolf movie, and the presence of Lindhome and Forster in the cast has me especially interested in this one.
