Orphan: First Kill – Isabelle Fuhrman shares bloody behind-the-scenes pic

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

It's only been a month and a half since we learned that Isabelle Fuhrman will be reprising the role of Esther, the "homicidal 30-something pretending to be a 9-year-old" she previously played in 2009's Orphan (watch it HERE), for the prequel Orphan: First Kill, and now the project is already wrapping up production.

With the end of filming in sight, Fuhrman took to her Instagram account to share two behind-the-scenes images – one in which she's covered with blood, and another where she has a coating of shaving cream.

Orphan: First Kill is being directed by William Brent Bell from a screenplay by David Coggeshall. The synopsis:

Leena Klammer orchestrates a brilliant escape from an Estonian psychiatric facility and travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family. But Leena’s new life as "Esther" comes with an unexpected wrinkle and pits her against a mother who will protect her family at any cost.

Fuhrman is joined in the cast by Julia Stiles.

Although Fuhrman has aged 11 years since the release of Orphan and is now 23 years old, Bell and his crew are attempting to make her look like a preteen again through "a combination of forced perspective shooting and a world-class makeup team". I'm looking forward to seeing how well that's going to work.

Orphan: First Kill is being produced by James Tomlinson, with Dark Castle Entertainment's Alex Mace, Hal Sadoff, and Ethan Erwin. Original Orphan screenwriter David Leslie Johnson serves as executive producer. Jen Gorton and Josie Liang are overseeing the project for eOne.
