Many actors have had trouble finding that perfect post-Oscar-win role. I mean Halle Berry followed up her Oscar win for MONSTER’S BALL with GOTHIKA and CATWOMAN. But Colin Firth may officially have found the coolest way to follow-up an Oscar win. According to the Daily Mail, Firth will star in Park Chan-wook’s STOKER, a vampire movie that would co-star Nicole Kidman and Mia Wasikowska.
Officially producers are staying coy on the concept of the film saying it’s a “mystery drama” but multiple reports peg STOKER as a vampire film that would revolve around “Dracula” author Bram Stoker’s interactions with the bloodsuckers. Wasikoswki would play Stoker’s niece who comes to live with the author after her father dies.
If you needed this movie to get anymore interesting, it was written by Wentworth Miller, the actor probably best known for “Prison Break” or RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE. And now he’s a screenwriter penning dialogue for two Oscar-winners…
STOKER would be Park’s first English-language film and the first developed in the Hollywood system. When asked for a statement, Park’s reps said full details on STOKER will be announced in the coming weeks. Stay tuned…
