The upcoming Frasier revival will debut on Paramount+ next month, but there’s another Frasier project set to premiere the day before that might just catch your interest. Our Frasier Remake is a collaborative, animated art project that involves over a hundred filmmakers, animators, and visual artists recreating individual segments of an iconic Frasier episode.

The animated Frasier project will tackle the first season finale, My Coffee With Niles, and feature 185 chopped-up segments of the episode. A different artist tackled each section, which brings a multitude of different visual styles and mediums. The original episode found Frasier wondering whether or not he was truly happy, which Our Frasier Remake creator Jacob Reed believes was “a thinly veiled question about whether or not a spin-off of Cheers called Frasier was worth it. Three decades later, we’re asking the same question about the reboot. Our Frasier Remake is a celebration of Frasier, yet also critiques the current culture of endless remakes.

The Frasier revival features Kelsey Grammer reprising his iconic role as it “follows Frasier Crane in the next chapter of his life as he returns to Boston with new challenges to face, new relationships to forge and an old dream or two to finally fulfill.” The series also stars Jack Cutmore-Scott as Frasier’s son, Freddy; Nicholas Lyndhurst as Frasier’s old college buddy turned university professor, Alan; Toks Olagundoye as Alan’s colleague and head of the university psychology department, Olivia; Jess Salguerio as Freddy’s roommate, Eve; and Anders Keith as Frasier’s nephew, David, son of Niles and Daphne. We’ll also see a few members of the original cast turn up, including Bebe Neuwirth as Lilith, Frasier’s ex-wife and mother of Freddy, and Peri Gilpin as Roz Doyle, Frasier’s producer at KACL.

Our Frasier Remake will debut on October 11th, with the Frasier revival premiering on Paramount+ on October 12th.
