Up until not too long ago we were expected to just bank on faith that Sam Raimi’s latest OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL would be awesome. I mean it’s been how long since this thing has been in production? And we only got a look at the first poster a week ago. That’s just not going to cut it.

Disney finally figured that out and has now decided to treat us all to the first trailer from OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL! Now you can let your imagination run wild regarding what you might expect in this trailer, but I’ll tell you one thing – It’s great and powerful! … Get it? Check that shite out below or over in our videos section!

Below the trailer is a recent Entertainment Tonight segment featuring the film. In this segment we’re treated to all kinds of OZ talk including James Franco talking shop.

“Oz The Great and Powerful” imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum’s beloved character, the Wizard of Oz. When Oscar Diggs, a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora, Evanora and Glinda, who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.

Along with Franco the fantasy-adventure stars Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams, Abigail Spencer, Zach Braff and Joey King. We return to OZ on March 8, 2013!
