Pandorum gets pushed

There are two flicks hitting theaters in September that have me fairly pumped up to go check out. One is the Dennis Quaid mind-f*ck in space flick PANDORUM, the other is the Megan Fox flick JENNIFER’S BODY. And unfortunately for me, thanks to the folks at Overture Films, it looks like I’m gonna have to make a choice.

PANDORUM, which was originally slated for a September 4th release, has been pushed back to September 18th… the same day that JENNIFER’S BODY is set to release. As far as I can tell, there’s no rhyme or reason for the change, other than staying clear of the holiday weekend? But even that’s a stretch. And why two weeks? Why not just one?

So for a fairly empty genre month, with only WHITEOUT being the other film of interest released in September, we have a double dosing on September 18th. Lame. I prefer my horror spaced out, and I know there’s a group of you out there who won’t see a film after it’s opening weekend. And now you gotta make a choice, or make it a flippin’ double-feature.

I’ll probably end up seeing PANDORUM because it looks like the better flick, but also because I haven’t seen shit for JENNIFER’S BODY and the only thing it has going for it is Fox’s hot body. And as it appears the case with TRANSFORMERS 2, even that can’t save a movie.

PANDORUM and JENNIFER’S BODY hit theaters everywhere September 18, 2009.
