Who’s up for a seductive murder mystery? I know I am!

Deadline has it that paramount has just acquired rights to Tana French’s novel THE LIKENESS, which plays as a sequel to her very own 2008 tome IN THE WOODS. Word is Stephanie Savage has been tapped to adapt the novel to script form, with her and her Fake Empire partner Josh Schwartz (FUN SIZE) set to produce. Only question is, will Schwartz direct or will the pair find someone else to helm?

The skinny: The novel is about a young female detective who goes undercover to solve a murder in an elite college town. The detective wants to discover the truth, but she finds this new world to be quite seductive.

Not sure how you feel, but I dig that simple setup. I mean, I’m a sucker for murder mysteries in general (just finally saw Woody Allen’s MANHATTAN MURDER MYSTERY last night, loved it!), so I’m an easy sell. But I like the female detective angle, especially that bit about being seduced by her mysterious new environs.
