Paranormal Activity 2 has found a director in Kip Williams. Who?

JoBloJoBlo

Well PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2 has found a director, and I’ll bet you ten million dollars you didn’t guess who they ended up picking. With a shortlist that formerly had the minds behind SAW, WOLF CREEK and SESSION 9 on it (not to mention a big fat rumor about Brian De Palma), this final decision arrives with a bit of a “WTF?”

Kip Williams will be directing PARANORMAL 2, according to a short and cryptic note posted on the movie’s page. Who the f*ck is Kip Williams you ask? Well, he’s directed WINGS OVER THE ROCKIES, THE DOOR IN THE FLOOR and THE ADVENTURES OF SEBASTIAN COLE, none of which I can say I’ve seen, but uh, the middle one has Jeff Bridges in it?

Why this seemingly insanely random choice? Oren Peli explains in his note:

“I have some awesome news for the fans of Paranormal Activity – director Kip Williams will join us for the next chapter of the story. We are thrilled to have Kip working with us. He is the guy we want at the helm, because he nows exactly what we want to deliver to the fans…and I can’t wait to be a part of what he’s putting together. I don’t want to spoil the story, but I promise it’ll surprise you. Stay tuned.”

Damn, that must have been one hell of a pitch. Either that or every single other horror director they approached turned them down or tried to sell them a concept of Kate pursuing a dream of becoming the first demon possessed woman to sail across the Atlantic Ocean or something equally idiotic.

So…”Kip,” what the hell do you have for us?
